Clare Grogan by far. She had a type of personality that far suited a guy like Lister, rather than Chloe Annett's privately educated posh girl portrayal Do you believe Simulant37 lives with Jed?

Well I thought they just worked together in Jed’s shipping container studio. I wonder if he ever collected Jed’s mail and found a pile of the screenshots he was always mentioning and hashtagging.

I have an easy time buying into the idea that Grogan Kochanski might have actually liked Lister back (and probably did) and would've gone out with him at least once had he only dared ask.
I have a harder time buying into the premise that Annett Kochanski actually did go out with him.
Plus, with the backstory officially changed to one where they did go out and she broke it off, now instead of it being a matter of "What If?" it's a matter of she said no he's still hung up on her anyway. Then, of course, you've got the events of the Krytie TV episode, after which she's really not interested in him anymore and with good reason. [Dude, that WAS your second chance, and you fucked it up in epic fashion, too.] With Grogan Kochanski, Lister is haunted by a "what if", and it's easier to root for Lister's "impossible" quest to find the right combination of dimension jumping and time travel that will let him get an answer (particularly since her behavior in her few scenes do suggest the answer probably would've been yes). With Annett Kochanski, Lister's gotten his answer. It's No. And he doesn't accept or respect it. It makes Lister less sympathetic and more just pathetic, and that's a problem for the show because he is the central character, so we are ultimately being asked to care about him and root for him as we watch it.
I don't think this is the only reason, or even the main one, why most people don't like the feel of S7 and S8 as much as S1 through S6, but I think it's a reason. It's one of my reasons, anyway.

I agree with you, Lister MUST be stopped! P.S are you looking forward to the big changes?
