Have some therapy and unleash the opinions of RD you are normally too scared to say...
Allow me to begin:
- I think Series 7 is a good series - I don't think series X or XII were very good and it's probably reliant on "fans" laughing when they think they should (I was in the audience for one of X so I am guilty of this) - I think Polymorph is a flawed episode that is overrated and not particularly funny. In fact, I pretty much hate series 3 (apart from Marooned and bits of Timeslides)
your turn...

I said this on the old forum, but I think it was beyond creepy that they referenced a specific part of the book Lolita and the whole "saving it for later" page tearing thing.
The part in question is when Humbert, a self-confessed pedophile who is the stepfather of the child he refers to as "Lolita" (not her actual name or one that anybody else calls her), gets aroused when the 12 year old girl is lying across his lap and cums in his pants.
Some people say it was a coincidence and they just used a controversial book and a random page...but honestly? I don't think so, it seems too coincidental. I wish I could get a clear answer on what they were thinking. Even if it was just "lol let's use a controversial book" did it really HAVE to be one about a nonce?
Another opinion I have is that Hattie made the better Holly. I have nothing against Norman, I just preferred Hattie and was sorry to see her go.

I quite often hear that series I-VIII were the 'original series'. This makes me think these people don't know anything about RD. Unfortunately, you can hear this opinion here quite often.

I agree with Ants about Series 7, I like it a lot. I also like a lot of Back to Earth, particularly the first and last parts, it just drags a lot in the middle.
Gunmen of the Apocalypse is way over-rated. It’s decent but not in my personal top 20, in fact it’s my 4th favourite episode of series 6.

I don't like The Inquisitor.
Also think Queeg is the worst ep of series 2.
And series 6 is the worst of the bubble.
Heh.

Another opinion I have is that Hattie made the better Holly. I have nothing against Norman, I just preferred Hattie and was sorry to see her go. Lady Chatterley's Lover seems a more obvious choice. I found the reference funny in the episode, but assumed they'd simply chosen a risque book and randomly thought of a page number. Also, having no knowledge of the book, I had no idea it involved a girl that young. Now you've put it in context, it's shocking two grown men would choose such a passage, and equally shocking the writers would make comedy of it. I'm obviously not going to give an opinion about Red Dwarf that I'm too scared to say, because I'm too scared to. But I'll say that I like series VIII. I liked it when I watched it, I like it still. Some of the jokes fail, and yes the tone is different from previous series. I still find a lot to enjoy about it. And, for what it's worth, I particularly enjoy 'Pete'. So there! Stick it in your tailpipe!

I can only watch series 8 with cast commentary. Tbf tho I could even watch series 12 of Dr Who with the RD cast commentating. Love the commentaries. Best out there.

To be fair Oh, I see. I really have trouble with these acronyms. Even those I've seen before. The other day I saw YMMV. As usual, I had to look it up. 'Your mileage may vary'. Firstly, I don't appreciate being given permission to have my own point of view. Secondly, just write, 'your mileage may vary'. It's not difficult. EDIT This is a pet hate of mine, as these acronyms seem to be spinning wildly out of control. Like most pet hates, I appreciate it's probably irrational, and probably doesn't bother anyone else.

Thanks for the memory is one of my least favorite episodes. Everyone always says its the best but when i was younger i always skipped past it. I always just thought it was a bit boring and once you know what has happened takes away most rewatchability.
I also always preffered Hattie to norman and think Holly is fine as mainly background. I never get over excited when Norman returns.
Also I dont like Cassandra. its supposed to be the best episode of 8 but i still think its just as shit as the rest and dont like it at all.

There should never be a definitive end to the show, no returning to Earth, no finding Kochanski, no riding off into the sunset.

They should have a depressing death ending like Blackadder.

there should not be tolerance for people who think Lister or his actor are white.
